Excuses excuses...

I was so prepared to be a good blogger, I REALLY was! I was off to a good start, but things fell by the wayside. I'm still spinning and knitting like crazy, but I've been too busy to get pics taken, loaded onto the computer, edited, and posted (bitch bitch bitch, right?) My daughter turned TWO on March 20 (TWO! When the hell did that happen?!?!) so the week and a half or so before that was spent going a million places looking for Curious George party gear. My parents are retiring to Florida at the end of this week and so I spent the last week up there so they could load me up with the ENTIRE contents of their pantry and soak up as much of my now 2-year-old (!!!) daughter as humanly possible before they go, all while simultaneously trying to figure out how to get my DH to get a job down there so we can live somewhere where it's warm and there are lower taxes (although more Bushes...ah, trade offs!) And the next few weeks don't look to be much easier in the life keeps piling up category. I keep chipping away at the behemoth mess that is the new fiber room/basement-cum-family room. There WILL BE PICS, ON THIS I SWEAR!! Good fibery news, though, the skein of yarn pictured sold in my Etsy shop, which is TOO cool because the money is almost ALL MINE! So my DH is going to Kenya for 10 days with his high school bio students, so I have to get winter stuff away and spring stuff out so he has clothes to wear. And then 3 days after he leaves, I'm flying to Fla. with my daughter to visit the parents. Yes, I'm taking a 2 year old on a plane on Easter Sunday to Florida. ALONE. So if you're flying Southwest out of Philly on Easter Sunday heading to Tampa, I apologize in advance. The screaming, however, is most likely me.

Bad Blogger!

I have a confession to make: I'm a bad blogger. I didn't update like I was planning, and then of course Blogger itself was having cramps or something and refusing to even let me in to create a post. C'est la vie! I am here now...tired and sore. Why am I so sore? Because I have been working like a madwoman to get my room finished! Paint's done, and I'm trying to weed through the junk and organize 2 rooms at once (my fibery room and the basement where everything that used to live in the fibery room now resides). Ugh. Nothing like lugging tons of crapola up and down 2 flights of stairs with bad knees. Here are some "in progress" pics...more tomorrow (hopefully) showing the progress I've made in the past 2 days!

Here's the room pre painting - it was as I was putting the first coat up that I realized how much the old color looked like flesh. You know, like the Crayola crayon color before it went all PC. Ick. We'd been computing and hanging out in a flesh box. Don't mind the mess, like I said, there's a TON of crap, and I basically shifted it from one side of the room to the other as I painted.

Here's the first coat of the dark purple I used. It's by Behr, the color is Vintage (I think!). Not bad, huh? Looks even better in person!

Here's the lighter purple, Grape Lavender. I was only going to leave that one wall the dark and all the other walls light, but I LOVED the darker color so much, I decided to paint both long walls the darker color and the short walls (by the window and door) the lighter. I may even decide eventually to paint the whole thing the dark purple. I LOVE LOVE LOVE that color! And the contrast isn't quite as sharp as it looks in that second pic. The lighter color darkened up a bit to be more match-y with the darker (which dried even nicer than I thought!) YAY fiber room!

Gratuitous Picture Post

To make up for the last post lacking in photos, this one will be nothing but (and no puke, either!)

Water Ice spun from fiber from Spunky Eclectic (buy her fiber! It rocks!)

Bud spun from fiber from the lovely Sheilah.

I Want an Easter Egg! 80% merino/20% silk

Ask For the Sea 100% Corriedale

Bee's Knees from fiber from Ashley.

Easter Bonnet, domestic wool and silk noil.

More pics later, because apparently Blogger wants to post the remainder of my pictures to the ether rather than to my blog. Bastards!
